Connecting with reliability and durability professionals at ARDC Live

The Applied Reliability and Durability Conference (ARDC Live) was held April 2-4 in Berlin, Germany. With more than 120 different organizations represented by over 180 attendees, the conference proved to be the perfect event for reliability and durability professionals to network, build industry relationships and gain insightful information about up and coming trends. As a global sponsor, experts from HBM Prenscia were invited to deliver presentations and workshops as well as host discussion panels. Through this combination, attendees could learn from real-world examples to take away innovative approaches that help meet operational goals.

Highlights of the 2019 ARDC Live - Berlin

Engaging presentations

ARDC Live - Berlin began with a great keynote presentation from Pierre Dersin of Alstom Transportation who described the growing importance of prognostics and health management (PHM) discipline which links studies of failure mechanisms to system life cycle management. Attendees could select from three different tracks comprised of 33 presentations delivered by thought leaders representing early-stage technologies to more developed organizations.

Interactive discussions

HBM Prenscia joined industry-leading representatives from Chevron, KOC, and Alstom to share their experience with “Digital Transformation: Challenges and Opportunities in Reliability Engineering.” Both panelists and audience members contributed to this interactive discussion where concepts for helping organizations transform their current models were shared as well as ideas for helping their employees adopt new digital technologies for accelerating impact across industries. Interactive discussions around “The Benefits and Challenges of Using Big Data to Ensure Product Durability” were led by representatives from HBM Prenscia, Valeo, and Poclain. The challenges of how to cope with and learn from the huge amounts of data being generated from increased data sources like the falling cost of sensors, data storage, and the emerging technology of IIoT were discussed and potential workarounds shared.

In-depth workshops

HBM Prenscia led two interactive workshops where attendees could learn about the tools and applications available for implementing a successful DFR process. Those attending durability-focused workshop were provided some background theory on how to do fatigue calculations and how strain gauges can be used to take measurements for reliability calculations.

Presentations from ARDC Live – Berlin are available to customers with access to ARDC Connect! 2019 ARDC attendees are automatically given access this online community so don’t miss the opportunity to get more value out of your conference registration! If you couldn’t join us in Berlin or missed certain sessions while you were there, catch up by downloading the presentations. For more information on how you can be part of ARDC Live or simply join the ARDC community via ARDC Connect, visit www.ardconference.com.

HBM Prenscia is looking forward to participating at the upcoming ARDC Live events later this year in Bangalore (India) and Indianapolis (North America)! Be sure to take advantage of the free reliability and durability session hosted by HBM Prenscia on September 16, 2019 in Indianapolis – learn more about the "Developing Durable, Reliable Products" session.
